Julia Dinsmore knows first hand about poverty and homelessness. Her mission is to give these conditions a face, which she accomplishes through her work and art. Her childhood as part of a working class Irish-Catholic family, the mental illness and alcoholism in her family that profoundly affected her, and issues concerning her own adult life and children, are chronicled in her book My Name Is Child Of God...Not "Those People": A First Person Look at Poverty.
Julia shares her poetry, humor, and what it's like to be poor in America with civic organizations, church groups, and college classes.
Julia Dinsmore lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
